Being one of Switzerland’s leading E-Commerce companies, the data integration requirements of its customers and partners become more and more challenging every day. B2B Customers as well as suppliers try to digitalize their businesses to optimize their procurement- respectively order-processes by digitally connecting their processes with our client. Additionally, our client has to continuously optimize its internal processes as well. This results in numerous data- and API integrations among its various systems such as its ERP, PIM, Web Shop and BI solutions.

 

Until recently these integration efforts have been distributed among different teams. This is going to change by building a new Master Data Management team responsible for fulfilling the data needs of the growing number of internal and external customers and suppliers. So this position is a chance to be part of something new, a chance of helping to build a new, innovative Master Data team.

 

Thus, we are looking for a MDM developer having a passion for data integration and data management to fill a key role in this new team.

 

Persons in this position must understand the development and maintenance techniques surrounding efficient data management and data integration. They must be a team players and a self-starters who can work independently to exploit ETL and Data-Management related technologies.

 

This position requires strong communication and collaboration skills combined with experience in complex software development organizations. Experience with high data volumes or highly available systems is desirable.

 

This position is responsible to take care of both development and production.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with various business stakeholders to identify their information needs precisely enough to transform them into ETL jobs or REST Services
  • Code, test, debug, and document data processing and analytical back-end applications of moderate complexity in an agile environment
  • Identify opportunities to optimize our ETL and service environment including monitoring, implementing quality (regression, automation) and data validation processes
  • Additionally, also participate in development and production support around few non-ETL applications like PIM (using STEP from Stibo) and Qlik (for BI Analytics)

 

Skills And Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands on development experience with ETL tools – ideally Talend
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational DBs is required. MS SQL Server and T-SQL would be an advantage. Basic knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or Redis are a plus as well.
  • Some years of development experience in a modern programming language (Java, Python, Ruby, etc) is required, preferable Java.
  • Being familiar with integration architecture topics is beneficial. Examples are: EAI (Hohpe) patterns, ETL processes, API management, REST, SOA, microservices, etc.
  • Knowledge of a reporting/analytics/Business Intelligence tool would be an advantage, especially Qlik View and Qlik Sense
  • Some working knowledge of building Big-Data technologies such as Spark is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Speaking German fluently is a big advantage
